Dirk Biesinger, Author.

Welcome to my corner of the expanse

... where the void isn't staring back, but brimming with possibilities.

... where imagination is not defining, but setting you free to dream.

I believe in the power of the trajectory. It is far too easy to spiral into cynicism and far too tempting to subscribe to modern nihilism. I choose the alternative. My work is a rejection of that "downward spiral."
The world we inhabit is the cumulative result of a billion individual decisions—some monumental, most quiet. While we cannot rewrite the past, and despair is a lousy advisor, we can control the next step. My writing explores where those steps lead us when aligned with a vision—today, tomorrow, and across generations. What happens when we realize we aren’t walking that path alone?

Defining the Genre: Beyond the Labels

If you seek a narrative that respects your intelligence without draining your hope, you have found it. My work sits at the intersection of several movements, yet claims its own territory:

Is it Solarpunk?

In spirit, yes. While the Boreas’ Tribes Saga is set in a distant future, it shares Solarpunk’s commitment to sustainability and human ingenuity. It is an exploration of what could be, grounded in realistic humanity rather than utopian perfection.

Is it Hopepunk?

Not quite. Hopepunk often defines itself through resistance against a cynical world. I prefer to bypass the cynicism entirely. I view dwelling on negativity as "effort wasted." Why spend our limited energy there?

Is it Science Fiction?

Paradoxically, yes. Imagine the scope of Asimov’s Foundation, but exploring the era after the dark ages that Seldon sought to bridge—on a world that has consciously moved beyond a reliance on daily technology.

Is it Fantasy?

Not in the "hidden school" sense. The Boreas’ Tribes Saga explores the raw discovery of magic and dragons where no hidden society has the answers. It is discovery from first principles.

Is it Speculative?

Most definitely. The physics are rigorous. I maintain an extensive database of planetary mechanics, calendars, and a census of over two thousand individuals to ensure the world-building is as solid as the reality we inhabit.

I categorize my work as Non-Dystopian and Anti-Grimdark. I appreciate the complexity of epic sagas like The Three-Body Problem, but I choose to inhabit the opposite of their shadows. I write for those who want the richness of Middle-earth, but with a focus on the constructive rather than the corrosive.

Every decision counts. Every individuum matters. That is my philosophy, and that is my work.
